CardDAV support for address book synchronization

The Bat! offers CardDAV protocol support to sync contacts with CardDAV servers including Google and iCloud. You can add, edit or delete contacts in The Bat!, and all these changes will be reflected on the server. Such synchronization is useful when you access the same address book using different devices: for example, you can add a new contact using your smartphone or tablet, and it will appear in The The Bat!’s address book after you sync it with your CardDAV server.

Automated Attachment Processing

You have multiple ways to quickly and easily process files attached to email messages. Save all attachments from multiple selected messages is very easy: you just click a menu item once and select the destination folder, so The Bat! will save all attachments from all the messages to this folder. You don't need to set up any script or filter or rule in order to accomplish this routine task. Besides that, you can configure a mail account to store all attached files in a separate folder on the disk, so each attachment will be a standalone file rather than encoded in a message body using Base64. Streamlined IMAP4 protocol

The Bat! can connect to email accounts on the servers via the IMAP protocol (Internet Message Access Protocol) in such a way that it opens multiple simultaneous connections to the same account for faster access: it can do multiple different operations in parallel, e.g. work with messages in one folders while the other folders are synchronized.

Command-line handling

The Bat! also supports command-line interface to automate routine tasks. For example, you can send an email from a Windows command line batch file (.CMD) or from a PowerShell script. You can also import and export messages and addresses, and do other useful actions automatically. More...

Modest System Requirements

The Bat! is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 and later versions of Windows operating systems. There are no minimum requirements for memory size or CPU speed. It runs on any Windows PC platform with at least 1024x768 screen resolution.


Data Security

The Bat! has various means to protect your email correspondence and prevent email hacking.

End-to-end Encryption

The Bat! supports PGP and GnuPG (GPG) for end-to-end email encryption (E2EE). The Bat! also supports S/MIME via Internal Implementation or Microsoft CryptoAPI.

On-the-fly Data Encryption

During the installation, you can enable the On-The-Fly encryption, so all the data (messages, address books, configuration files) will be stored encrypted on your hard disk. In this mode, unencrypted data never appear on the disk. On-the-fly encryption uses AES hardware acceleration on modern Intel processors (AES-NI) and produces no noticeable delays.

Encryption to Mail Servers

The Bat! email client protects your personal information thanks to its widespread support of authentication protocols and encryption while working with mail servers. It prevents intentional data distortion and loss of confidential data while sending messages via the Internet. The Bat! supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) v3.0 / Transport Layer Security (TLS) v1.0, v1.1 and v1.2 without using any third-party library - The Bat! has own implementation of these cryptographic protocols.

Protect against data loss with The Bat!'s backup and restore function for your emails; backup your customized configuration settings, address books, folders and messages.

The Bat!'s own Address Book

Viruses extract and distribute your contacts' data from some email address books. Unlike other email programs, The Bat! uses its own address book which is not connected to easy virus targets such as Microsoft Windows Address Book.

Don't lose important messages; when a message is parked, you will not be able to move it to another folder, and it won't be deleted without a warning or automatically purged. More...

Selective Download

Choose messages to delete or leave on your POP3 server by setting up respective filters in the Sorting Office. Selective download filters can be used for protection against viruses and spam.

Safe Handling of Attached Files

If an attached file has a "double extension", for example, photo.jpg.exe, The Bat! will warn you and allow you to see the real extension. The Bat! checks attached file extensions and prevents them from launching if they are suspicious.

ASLR and DEP

The Bat! uses Windows Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) and Data Execution Prevention (DEP) to protect your computer from viruses and malware spread via email.

64-bit Version

The 64-bit version of The Bat! offers benefits for speed and security. In terms of performance, it is 5% faster than the 32-bit version in a 64-bit operating system. The Bat email client has been certified for Windows 10. The Windows App Certification Program outlines program and technical requirements to ensure third-party apps carrying the Windows brand are easy to install and reliable on PCs running Windows. The Bat! met all technical requirements and eligibility qualifications to participate in the Windows 10 Desktop App Certification Program. The 64-bit version of The Bat! takes advantage of the benefits of 64-bit architecture and its installation package is digitally signed to ensure its authenticity. Software testing has been carried out by "N3 LLC – Application Validation Services", a company accredited by Microsoft.
